This technology of Canon detects and automatically neutralises camera shakes occurring while taking shots from hand, helping to obtain a clear, sharp images even in a low light conditions. 4 steps stabilisation means, that if at 1/125 s. and determined focal lenght we can produce, without stabilisator, a good quality photo, with Canon EF-S 55-250mm f4-5.6 IS we should be able to obtain the same results at 1/8 s.
This lens includes also correction of chromatic aberrations that guarantees high quality images throughout all its zoom range.
