With a minimum focusing distance of 20cm throughout the entire zoom range and a 2.3x maximum magnification ratio, SIGMA 17-70mm f2.8-4.5 DC Macro HSM offers close-up ability of a Macro lens, an exceptional feature for a standard zoom.
Its optics contain SLD (Special Low Dispersion) elements, that reduce optical and chromatic aberrations and guarantee an outstanding image quality. The new design with multi layer lens coating helps reducing flare and ghosting. The IF (Internal Focusing) system with HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) guarantee fast and silent focusing without turning or moving the outer parts of lens, so that you can use your favourite filter and be sure that all its effects will remain intact. Furthermore, with a large f/2.8 aperture, SIGMA 17-70mm f2.8-4.5 DC Macro HSM is ultra-bright.
It proves to be especially useful in a low-light conditions or interior photography, apart from being a perfect general use lens.
